Istanbul is a magical meeting place of East and West.
Why I love this city? Because of its locals and the endless supply of hospitality. When I walk down a city street I love the fact that layers of history spread out before me. I love to see the sun over the world’s most charming skyline and I adore the tea gardens, the restaurants and the bars. I am hopelessly in love by the fact that here, in Istanbul, around every corner lies an extraordinary cultural experience.
Where to stay in Istanbul?
On my first trip to Istanbul I stayed to Four Seasons Hotel Istanbul at Sultanahmet. This hotel is perfectly positioned and it has stunning views of Ayasofya and the blue mosque. From the roof top bar I could always chill with a delicious cocktail and a view that cannot be matched with anything else. This property is expensive but worth every dollar. Four Seasons Hotel Istanbul at Sultanahmet is located in the old part of the city, which is an excellent fact.
Second time when I went to Istanbul I stayed at Neorion Hotel. This hotel is great and provides modern and clean rooms. The location is great and the staff are extraordinary friendly and helpful. I can also remember that the bed was comfortable and that the hotel offered me a “pillow menu” in order to suit my personal preferences. Great! In my room I had air conditioning which was perfect and able to be controlled.
Neorion Hotel has good size rooms, very comfortable and clean, good wifi, short distance to the main sights and helpful staff. A free evening drink on the roof can be a bit noisy, but this place is still extraordinary.
Enjoy Istanbul and have a great time!
